Alanis Morissette

Alanis Nadine Morissette was born in Ottawa, Canada, on the 1st June, 1974. Alanis' Greek name is a feminine version of her father's surname, Alan. Her two siblings are Chad (Alanis twin) and Wade. In the age of 6, she learned how to play the piano. Then, at 21 at the age of 21, she began playing guitar. Alanis recorded a 1986 single called Fate Stay With me (b part: Find The Right Man). A Canadian dance-pop singer her albums include: Alanis (1991), and the album Now Is The Time (1992). After turning 18 she left NY to Toronto in Canada, where collaborations with musicians and songwriters failed. Her first love came to her in 1994. Glen Ballard. He had collaborated with other musicians including Aretha, Michael Jackson, and Barbra. In 1994, she made the move to LA at age 19. The Madonna's Maverick Records released the song "Jagged Little Pill" on June 13th on the 13th of June, 1995. Alanis came up with a method for writing songs that was intimate and personal. JLP is sold around 30 million copies across the globe. It has become the highest selling female album and the 3rd greatest selling album of all times.
